LVL or lash lift & tint is a professional eyelash perming treatment to lift and curl your natural lashes from the root making them longer, curlier and sometimes even thicker in appearance. The results lasts anything from 6 to 8 weeks depending on your lash cycle. The process is similar to a hair perm - two solutions are applied to the root of the lashes to change their natural shape and curl. The treatment itself is extremely relaxing, pain-free and is done in 45 minutes to an hour! If you have never had this treatment before, you will require a patch test to ensure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients in the perm, neutraliser or tint. Every time you visit a new salon you should have a patch test as different salons use different products. Treatment around the eyes should be taken seriously and you should always do your due diligence when finding and choosing a new salon. If a salon does not patch test you at least 24 hours before your appointment, I would turn the other way!Â
A Lash Lift & Tint would suit those that want the glam look of longer and curled eyelashes without the maintenance of having eyelash extensions. It is also a more cost effective treatment as they last much longer and are generally cheaper than getting eyelash extensions. Thanks to the uniquely shaped silicone shields, the results can be adapted to suit each clients’ individual needs. Some may prefer a subtle lift, whereas others want a more dramatic curl.
Another benefit or getting a Lash Lift is that there is practically zero maintenance after the first 24 hours where you cannot wet them. This includes avoiding steam from showers, ovens, cooking etc. After the 24 hour period, the lashes have ‘set’ and will remain this way until your lash sheds/grows out. Most people are often surprised at how much length they can get from this treatment as the lash lift could potentially add up to 3mm of length compared to your natural lashes when they are straight. This is a great alternative if you decide to ever take a break from Eyelash extensions.Â
